Fans who visited the Panthera van on game day also learnt more about additional clinical trials, such as those aimed at combating Osteoarthritis and Cardiovascular Disease – among others. The team were also giving out promotional hand sanitiser, biscuits and flyers to fans passing by.

“Panthera works closely with local healthcare providers and partners like PNE to offer opportunities for more people to get involved in research and help advance new medicines in a safe and ethical environment. It’s a great privilege to support PNE and the local community.” – Stuart Young, Panthera CEO.

The PNE community trust, run a scheme called ‘FITFANS’ endorsed by the EFA (English Football Association) which encourages football fans to join the program to lose weight and live healthier lifestyles. Panthera are offering free health checks and Fibroscans to members and fans, for those interested in taking part in our Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease clinical trials.

“The FIT FANS programme sees 20 men and 20 women join PNECET for one night a week over the course of 12 weeks for a period of 90 minutes at Deepdale, with sessions split equally between classroom workshops, based on healthy lifestyles, and physical exercise sessions that utilise the assets of the stadium.”

The partnership with the community trust in Preston, allows Panthera to become part of the local community, making research more accessible to the public. We hope to attend more Preston games this season and engage with the public further.
