One of the key missions at Panthera Clinical Research is to make research more accessible to the general public. In order to do this, Panthera has opened dedicated clinical research sites in cities across the UK, Glasgow, Preston, Manchester, Sheffield and London. Panthera’s continued development of the digital patient pathway is leading the way in making it easier than ever before to get involved in research.
This digital pathway enables a volunteer to pre-screen for the study digitally via an online form, which is more convenient for them as they do not have to have a 20–30-minute phone call. This also gives the volunteer instant feedback on whether they are eligible for the study or not.
If eligible for the study, the volunteer is then able to be booked into one of our virtual clinic appointments. This allows the volunteer to consent digitally and attend a 30-minute appointment with one of our experienced clinicians to talk through the study in more details and ask any questions they may have. The volunteer can join the virtual appointment via any device with an internet connection, camera and microphone. These calls are fully secure and not recorded so the volunteer can feel comfortable knowing their appointments are completely confidential.
Panthera are at the forefront of making clinical trials more accessible. Decentralised trials and digital health are becoming more important and Panthera are paving the way and challenging how traditional clinical trials can be blended with technology.
Currently, Panthera are recruiting for clinical trials investigating a potential new treatment for migraines, where the volunteer can reach the screening visit without attending an in-person consultation. Clinical staff and patients have given positive feedback regarding this process and Panthera have very exciting plans to develop the digital pathway in order to improve the user experience even more.
